Man Utd 2 – 2 Sunderland

Why on earth does Alex Ferguson never give an interview when his team has preformed poorly. Smacks of a sore loser to me. Once again, after a dreadful performance he wheels out poor old Mike Phelan to talk to the media about the teams dismal performance.

Manchester United are a class side and no matter how much weight we had to “Old Trafford Time” or “Fergie Time”, the point still remains that as soon as teams enter extra time at Old Trafford, they panic and turn to mush. You can only blame yourself if Manchester United score in Fergie Time. If you managed to keep your nose in front for 90 odd minutes, then it doesn’t make sense to think that all of sudden you change focus and turn into rabbits when the clock hits 90 minutes. Fergie Time is where the suspicion is that referees favour Manchester United to the degree of delaying the final whistle until they have scored (Evidence of this can be seen in the Man Utd vs Man City game a few weeks ago) BUT, they still have to score and the other team has every opportunity of defending or likewise scoring.

I’m not a Man Utd fan btw. I was hoping for a defeat for them, and it looked likely, but I have to admire their tenacity.

Back to my main point, Fergusson, I just don’t know why he wont come out and talk to the press when his team has had a bad performance. Surely that shows little, perhaps no respect for all the other people in the game from the fans, to the media to the opposition.

that said, all in all, well played Utd though Rooney should have been sent off in the first half for his deliberate and malicious foul but I doubt that will be spoken of too much in press. After all, man Utd are the darling of the English game and the referees ..and the media. Fergie Time?? Don’t know what your talking about mate…

In America the coach has to talk to the press. It is part of the league rules. Usually after a bad loss the press conference turns into circus. Red Devils stunk the joint out. TO will kill you. This led to the two Sunderland goals. Bad play. A draw was lucky. I am a man U fan. To put in street lingo they played like shit. http://bobbygee.wordpress.com/

Agreed Bobbygee. They played like complete donkeys but their performances against City and Sunderland show you why they are champions.

As a Gooner I just wish that Arsenal had that level of fight, desire and spirit and instead of entering the dieing minutes of a games chewing my nails in fear and desperation, I could calmly site back on the sofa and take a relaxed sip of beer as my “Red Devils” took the fight to the other team
