Chelsea….I hate Chelsea….

October 4, 2009

Just watched Chelsea put Liverpool to the sword 2-0. As much as I hate Chelsea they do have an awesome team though I think if you take Drogba out the equation, they drop down several levels. I have admired Drogba (in that hatefull sort of way). He, in my opinion, has been the outstanding player in the Premiership for several seasons now. I just wish he would lose all his thespian characteristics. Today it was his ankle. Every time he was touched, he crumpled to the floor clutching his ankle and rolling around. It’s a real shame. He is a great player. Strong and with pace, committed to the cause, a player that genuiniely plays for the team. I’d love to have him wake up tomorrow, sip his coffee, have a think, and say “You know what, sod this for a game of soldiers, I think I’m better off playing at Arsenal….”

fat chance….but we can all dream

Arsenal 6 – 2 Blackburn

October 4, 2009

Theres just something about Sam Allardyce that I don’t like, I didn’t like him at Bolton and I like him even less at Blackburn. Perhaps it’s his ability to give it right to Arsenal with his no nonsense, straight forward approach to games.

Allardyce breeds a hard work ethic in his teams, closing down, tackling hard and giving no quarter and when they went one up today against Arsenal, I thought, as probably every other Arsenal supporter did…” Here we go again..”, Arsene and Arsenal had a differing opinion and now, 6 goals later, it seems the commentators are all of the opinion that there is no way Arsenal can finish outside the top 4.

I beg to differ. That’s the frustration supporting Arsenal. One week…brilliant, the next week awful. I recall last season, beating Manchester Utd at Old Trafford, then beating Chelsea….then losing to Hull and Stoke… You sort of stop having any expectations when you watch Arsenal as home bankers can turn into Home Disasters and tough away games turn into brilliant, swash buckling performances.

But today, Arsenal were excellent. Sublime. Thomas Vermaelen…what a player. Van Persie, great goal but stupid foul. Overall, well played Arsene. A nice way to start your 14th record breaking year at the club. The Trophy cabinet is looking a little bare though so perhaps time for some new silverware?

Man Utd 2 – 2 Sunderland

October 3, 2009

Why on earth does Alex Ferguson never give an interview when his team has preformed poorly. Smacks of a sore loser to me. Once again, after a dreadful performance he wheels out poor old Mike Phelan to talk to the media about the teams dismal performance.

Manchester United are a class side and no matter how much weight we had to “Old Trafford Time” or “Fergie Time”, the point still remains that as soon as teams enter extra time at Old Trafford, they panic and turn to mush. You can only blame yourself if Manchester United score in Fergie Time. If you managed to keep your nose in front for 90 odd minutes, then it doesn’t make sense to think that all of sudden you change focus and turn into rabbits when the clock hits 90 minutes. Fergie Time is where the suspicion is that referees favour Manchester United to the degree of delaying the final whistle until they have scored (Evidence of this can be seen in the Man Utd vs Man City game a few weeks ago) BUT, they still have to score and the other team has every opportunity of defending or likewise scoring.

I’m not a Man Utd fan btw. I was hoping for a defeat for them, and it looked likely, but I have to admire their tenacity.

Back to my main point, Fergusson, I just don’t know why he wont come out and talk to the press when his team has had a bad performance. Surely that shows little, perhaps no respect for all the other people in the game from the fans, to the media to the opposition.

that said, all in all, well played Utd though Rooney should have been sent off in the first half for his deliberate and malicious foul but I doubt that will be spoken of too much in press. After all, man Utd are the darling of the English game and the referees ..and the media. Fergie Time?? Don’t know what your talking about mate…

Canon XH A1s High Definition Camcorder – Ordered from Simplyelectronics.net

October 1, 2009

I ordered a new Canon XH1 A1s HDV camcorder a couple of days ago from simplyelectronics.net. It was a little cheaper that most of the sites offered it and an extra £200 if purchased via Amazon, so I went by the site direct and got it for around £2500

The reviews of the product look excellent. This is the CNET Review

Looks like a nice bit of kit indeed and a hell of a lot lighter than the Canon XL H1 which has a load more functions and wot not but is bloody heavy if your shooting web content every second day of your life.

My only concern is Simply Electronics. Like an idiot, I Googled the company AFTER I had completed the online order and found a rather worrying link

Hopefully it should turn up within the specified delivery time but I am a little fretful!

Google banned one of my sites!

September 28, 2009

Last weekend we had a problem on the forum of one of our sites. It just stopped working. “strange” I thought, but nothing more and fired off an email to one of the developers for the site. Then Monday morning the dev got back to me and explained something strange was occuring and he was investigating.

Come Tuesday, Google had marked my site as “Suspicious” and every user that tried to “”hit” the site was welcomed with a Google warning page which basicaly said something like, “If you enter this site, your computer will die, your details will be stolen and you will be bankrupt by the end of the week”

Turns out the site had been hacked and there was a malicious script on some pages of the site so fair play to Google but still a shock to system

If this EVER happens to you, visit this site – It will tell you where the malicious code (dodgy shit) is.

Bloody hackers! ….or hackerz depending on age!

Talkcrap

September 28, 2009

Ok, so I was completely and utterly …and totally annoyed by talkcrap over this last week that I simply stopped listening to the station. It’s a shame but I doubt they will miss my listener numbers of one but surprisingly, I’m actualy enjoying radio 5 a hell of lot more. For a start, the presenters on the station actualy know what they are talking about and have a reasoned and considered opinion, not the “I am Mr Controversial” approach which seemingly Adrian Durham favours. I think the lot at Talksport are all probably, and I include my old hero Wrighty, are in some sort of masonic style lodge and probably have to roll up one trouser leg whilst wearing some sort of funny hat on regular occasions. (LEGAL DISCLAIMER – I have absolultely no proof of that btw, it’s just my opinion). They seem to have this predictable forumula of Mr Nice and Mr nasty presenter combinations. Mr rational, warm Alan Brazil with Mr man Utd Ronnie Irani, The Mike ” The Mad” Parry with footballer bloke who never really made the big time.

I sincerely hope the station gets found out by good honest listeners for the fraud it is and through a slow painful death rattle, sees a drop in listener numbers that force it into closure and the doll for all of it’s presenters who probably wouldn’t get a job serving tea at the BBC!!!

Anyhow, enough of that, the last word I will say on talkcrap is that I hope that every single one of their presenters gets infested anally by the fleas of a 100 camels.

thats That.

Onto the most important topic on my mind at the moment to alcohol. I seem to be drinking a lot more regular and a lot more (Quantity) than I should be. Thats another story I’ll fill everyone in on shortly but I have to slay the demon before I can comment on it :-)

Oh, the editing computer still lives, but I have had to lay it on it’s side to stop the one of it’s many fans rattling plus it probably deserves the rest.

Shoot tomorrow, tut…tut…no rest for the wicked

Alan Brazil and Ronnie Irani

September 17, 2009

This morning on talksport – How out of order the Arsenal fans are for reacting the way they did to Adebeyor’s goal celebration.

Not the Champions League or any of the other immiediate / current footballing action – but as usual, digging out the Arsenal. Amazes me, When Adebeyor is the one who has been charged, everyone at talksport is bending over backwards to say “well it was wrong…but you can understand why he did it..!”

Ooops Guess what…?

September 16, 2009

Bill and ben, the flower pot men (aka Adrian Durham and Darren Gough) – topic of discussion today…Arsenal, Eduardo and this time…the topic for the day…”Is Arsene Wenger Bad for the Game”

You would really only think that Bill and Ben spent their whole day infatuated with the Gooners.

Now a caller is saying he believes Arsene Wenger is a secret plant to undermine the English game…. and they are actualy discussing it with the chap.

Nice going Bill and Ben

Standard Liege v Arsenal, Gp H, 19:45

Standard Liege v Arsenal, Gp H, 19:45

On Sky Sports 2. Verdict 1-1 draw. I’ve never seen nor even heard of the Arsenal replacement keeper for today so my fingers are well and truely crossed for this one.

Oh, btw, talksport – Mike Parry – Now having a dig at Arsene Wenger for not “turning the other cheek” over the Adebeyor incident…tut tut

Adrian Durham… again

September 15, 2009

So today Adebeyor had two charges levelled against him by the FA, serious stuff, and Champions League kicks off tonight…. and Adrian Durhams main topic of conversation… as was last night… The Eduardo Dive.

He is infatuated with the Eduardo dive. What a complete twat
